Magnet Sensing Mode
This mode uses a magnet placed on a cutter of the chain to force the machine to reposition itself for grinding two cutters on the same side of the chain.
The magnet still provides the reference for counting the chain rotations.
Inch the machine to ensure that the grinding head is angled the same as the presented cutter - if not; pull the chain through the guide so that the cutter matches the grinding head. Identify where there are two left or right hand cutters in a row and place the magnet on the side of the first cutter in the double pair. See below.
Do not place the magnet on a tie link (link between cutters) as the machine will not function correctly.
Select "MAGNET" mode and press the count button to the required number of chain rotations. Remember that each time the magnet passes the proximity sensor the display will reduce by 1 (one) and the machine will do a correction. If the counter is left on 1 (one) the machine will automatically stop when the magnet reaches the proximity sensor.
Initially, allow the machine to run without the grinder motor on to ensure the magnet sensing function has been set up correctly. Adjust the cutter positioning screw and the depth adjusting screw as previously described - check for the correct change of sequence.
When satisfied that the machine is functioning correctly, press the count button to the required number and then the grinder button to start the grinder motor. Adjust the cutter positioning screw and the depth adjusting screw so that a small amount of material is being ground off.
