Dinasaw® Chain Sharpeners
Quick Start
This section is provided for operators who are familiar with the Dinasaw Chain sharpener.
Proper operation requires a thorough understanding of this manual.
Correct operation of the Dinasaw Chain sharpeners requires a set procedure to be followed.
1. Fit, dress and true the grinding wheel. See page 18 - 19
Make sure the grinding wheel suits the chain to be sharpened.
2. Set the grinding head square to the machine. (initial installation only)
3. Set the top plate angle. See page 31
4. Fit the chain and adjust the clamp. See page 21
5. Set the feed stroke length. See page 24
Check the chain for extra tie links and broken cutters.
6. Set the side plate angle. See page 39
7. Set the feed pawl height. See page 24
8. Determine mode setting. See page 27
Do not use AUTO mode on 3/4" harvester chain - Use MAGNET or OFF mode only.
9. Position magnet. See page 30
Check that the magnet is low enough on the cutter to trigger the proximity switch.
10. Sharpen chain. See page 38
11. When not using the machine for an extended period, make sure that the machine is left with the bevel cam follower off the bevel cam. To achieve this press ‘COUNT + INCH REV’. Failure to do this may result in damage to the bevel cam.
