ADJUSTING THE MODULE
Because of the large difference in pitch (distance between the cutters) of chains, it may be necessary to modify the settings of the control module to allow the feed pawl to return over the following cutter when automatically or magnetically detecting cutters.
When the machine corrects for a double cutter, it must reverse the feed motor to allow the feed pawl to return over the following cutter and push it into place to be sharpened. Due to the large variation in this distance, the module may need to be reprogrammed to allow the motor to stay in reverse for a longer time.
To reprogram the correction setting :
1. Set the mode to "MAGNET" or "AUTO"
2. Press "STOP" (this will display the current setting—Default = 0)
3. Hold the "STOP" button and depress the "SPEED INCREASE" button.
The display will read 1 thru 9 followed by A,B,C,D,E,F and 3 horizontal bars. This indicates additional feed motor revolutions.
4. 3 horizontal bars indicates the limit of display only. The module will continue to add or subtract motor revs while showing 3 horizontal bars. For this reason "F" should be considered the maximum setting.
5. Holding the "STOP" button and depress the "SPEED DECREASE" button. This will reduce motor revs. A decimal point after the numbers and letters displayed indicates a negative value. Once again "F." should be considered a maximum value.
6. To quickly reset the counter back to "0", hold "STOP" and depress "COUNTER".
