Dinasaw® Chain Sharpeners

Setting the Grinding Angle

The grind angle must be set exactly the same angle for both left and right hand cutters to enable the grind to be correctly centered. A difference in grind angles will cause problems when centering the grinding head and differences in the grinding depths of left and right hand cutters.

The procedure for adjusting the head angle is a two part operation.

Part one:

1 Lower the motor arm to the grinding position.

2 Adjust the depth adjusting screw so that the grinding wheel will remain clear of the chain.

3 Press "COUNT" & "INCH FWD" at the same time.

4 A symbol will show on the display and the machine will automatically advance until the grinding head is oriented for grinding a left hand cutter.

5 Loosen the head clamp with the 4mm hex key provided and rotate the grinding head to the required angle (left), by aligning the marks on the protractor with the indicator on the motor arm.. This clamp is an eccentic and only needs to be turned 90 degrees.

6 Securely retighten the head clamp at the desired angle.
